At august 15th the Avança Café’s demoday has happened in Viçosa, ending the 1st edition of the program that pre accelerates startups, in partnership with Embrapa Café, the incubator IEBT/Centev and Inova Hub from Lavras MG.
This was the first program that works exclusively with startups for the coffee sector, incentivizing the development of technological innovative solutions for this sector. The program aimed to incentive businesses and starting projects by giving knowledge, opportunities and networking.
The end of this event was destined to the presentation of pitches of startups that participated on the program: Certificafé, Promai, LogExpress and Farmly. The presentations were evaluated by specialists of the coffee sector and research development: Omar Cruz Roca, Head chief on Embrapa’s research department; Tiago Barros, from the brazilian cooperative´s association (OCB); Raul Narciso Carvalho Guedes, head chief of research at Universidade Federal de Viçosa; and Silvana Maria Novais Ferreiro Ribeiro, from INAES. The winning startups were Farmly in 1st place and Promai and Cetificafé in 2ND place.
Sara Nacarate, coordinator of the program, presented the results of the program, as well as challenges faced during al the process. Antônio Herbelê, that came representing Embrapa Café presented the importance of such programs for the development of the coffee sector.
