EMERGE Labs BRF Program approves 3 researches of UFV

The Technology Park of Viçosa - tecnoPARQ supported and promoted the presentation Workshop of EMERGE Labs BRF Program: "WASTE AND SAFETY OF FOOD", that happened on December 2nd at tecnoPARQ. The program is the result of EMERGE  and BRF partnership and has as its main objective to prospect technologies related to the program theme and are being developed by brazilian universities with market potential.

The event had a round of visits to UFV laboratories and resulted in the presentation of Technology Project Propposals by UFV researchers. From the presented projects, three were selected to the EMERGE Labs Program. This month, on the last weekend, happened, in São Paulo, the first module of the program, in wich the tecnoPARQ provided the transportation of the selected ones to Belo Horizonte airports, where they were going to take a flight to São Paulo provided by the program.

Ahead of the selected researches are: Andréa de Oliveira Barros Ribon, professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with research in the line of Bacterial Pathogenesis and Proteins of biotechnological interest; Maria Aparecida Scatamburlo Moreira, professor at the Veterinary Department with research in the line of Biotechnology, Diagnosis and Control of Animal Diseases; Leandro Licursi de Oliveira, professor in the Department of General Biology with research in the line of Identification and characterization of new lectins, Glycobiology of poisons, IgY microencapsulation for veterinary use, Prospecting of biomolecules with antimicrobial and antiparasitic activity, Immunotherapy for experimental Chagas disease, Protein-carbohydrate and protein-protein interaction in infections by intracellular pathogens; and Katialaine Corrêa de Araújo, postdoctoral student, with research in the field of genetic resistance to antibiotics, Ruminants and the Human Gastrointestinal Tract.
