LiaMarinha, incubated company of tecnoPARQ, was one of 14 startups selected for the 2nd Good Business Call for Climate. The call, made by the Climate Ventures Institute, a platform created to accelerate Brazil's low carbon regenerative economy, in partnership with the Climate and Society Institute (iCS) and support from Pipe.Social, aims to map, recognize and support solutions that manage positive impacts on climate in seven different areas: Agriculture (agriculture, livestock, production, distribution, vertical farming), Land Use and Forests (recovery, conservation, management, cultivation, extractivism, forestry), Water Management (monitoring systems , rainwater harvesting, reuse, biodigesters, sustainable practices), regeneration (solutions for environmental recovery, management, sustainable practices) Waste Management (all types, fashion - upcycling - the heavy industry with recycling and reuse of materials), Energy (generation, efficiency, distribution, solar, wind, bioenergy, smart grids), Logistics and Mobility ( cargo or personal transport, urban mobility).
The final selective will happen on November 7 at the Sustainable Brands, Brazil's premier event focused on sustainability-driven innovation. Up to seven businesses will be awarded the Climate Ventures boost, a program tailored to the needs of each startup and entrepreneur, which will take place from February to August 2020. The program includes mentoring, accelerators and investors, market access and investment advice and participation in business roundtables and strategic partner events.
